The Original Senator Cosmopolite is one of the most beautiful pieces developed by Glashütte, and its beauty is in part due to the high-end materials, genius design, and the mammoth features included in this luxury wrist watch.
On the dial, you will find an easy to read Roman numeral traditional design, but with a modern classic style and additional features. Included are time zones the user can set, which is perfect for those who travel for pleasure or on business.
As expected by Glashütte, the elegance of this wristwatch is undeniable. The Senator Cosmopolite is distinguished by lacquered silver-grained dial that features a black railroad chapter ring that frames the black Roman numerals. The Roman numerals are simple and not over-bearing, with symmetrical placement along the central vertical axis of the dial.
At the top of the dial is the 12-Hour Home Time dial, which presents a black minute ring and Arabic numerals—the small seconds a black railroad chapter ring and Arabic numerals. With a dial to show a starry night sky or the sun, you can keep track of everything on this elegant timepiece.
In addition to its impressive and elegant features, the Senator Cosmopolite also features a 72-Hour power reserve indictor which is located within the home time dial. It is in black against an ivory background of the dial face, and shows night/day indication by showing a black dot by night and a light dot by day.
The luxury of this piece is pure Glashütte. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal and is anti-reflective on both sides. Inside the case is the heart of the wristwatch: the new Calibre 89-02 automatic movement. The exceptional mechanics are set perfectly into motion using kinetic energy. It operates at 4 Hz and contains an off-centre rotor. The oscillation system is regulated by utilizing four gold screws on the balance rim. The lack of regulator on the spring allows the movement to run continuously over a much longer period of time, resulting in precision timekeeping.
Whilst it should be obvious this is not a standard piece or fashion watch from the likes of Hugo Boss or Guess watches, the price may surprise some. Despite the sheer luxury of the materials used and the fantastic micro engineering, the price is a little over £27,000. That might seem like a lot, but for the brand, the materials and the engineering expertise it really is a bargain.
